@SethBKrantz presents (the first of a few LN dissection focused talks) @ChiFuJeffYang Uptake of 5.8 LN standard improving over time. Associated with increased nodal upstaging rates. No increased morbidity. Higher volume surgeons much more like to be meeting metric. #STS2026

Despite excitement for avoidance of esophagectomy amongst our oncology community (myself included!), we found that SANO should be used with extreme caution➡️in fact in nearly all realistic scenarios, standard routine esophagectomy is preferred for longterm survival & QOL! #tssmn

At #STS2026, terrific presentation by MGH resident Dr. Chase Marso (@ChaseMarso) on a virtual reality and olfactory stimuli intervention to reduce perioperative pain and anxiety for patients undergoing thoracic surgery. The data from this single-arm trial suggest that the intervention works! We’re now launching this RCT: clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT04912…
