Mine action is more than removing landmines and explosives — it helps rebuild trust and support lasting peace. Our Director Amb. Tobias Privitelli welcomed Itonde Kakoma, President of Interpeace, and his colleague Menna Waguih to disscuss the links between mine action and peace.

How can mine action & ammunition management reduce risks & promote stability? Our Director Amb. Tobias Privitelli met NATO Head of Arms Control Eirini Lemos-Maniati & Head of the NATO Liaison Office in GVA Joaquín Molina to explore collaboration in support of affected countries.

У ході зустрічі відбувся конструктивний обмін думками щодо важливості подальшого розвитку співпраці між Україною та Швейцарією у сфері гуманітарного розмінування. Окрему увагу було приділено чинним форматам взаємодії як на двосторонньому, так і на багатосторонньому рівнях. Посол особливо відзначила сталу підтримку та активне залучення Швейцарії до питання гуманітарного розмінування в Україні. Januar führte die Botschafterin der Ukraine, Iryna Wenediktowa, ein Treffen mit dem Direktor des Genfer Internationalen Zentrums für Humanitäre Minenräumung (GICHD)@theGICHD Tobias Privitelli @TPrivitelli , durch. Im Rahmen des Treffens fand ein konstruktiver Meinungsaustausch über die Bedeutung der weiteren Entwicklung der Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Ukraine und der Schweiz im Bereich der humanitären Minenräumung statt. Besonderes Augenmerk wurde dabei auf die bestehenden Kooperationsformate sowohl auf bilateraler als auch auf multilateraler Ebene gelegt. Die Botschafterin sprach der Schweiz ihren besonderen Dank für die kontinuierliche Unterstützung sowie für das aktive Engagement im Bereich der humanitären Minenräumung in der Ukraine aus. Darüber hinaus wurden die weiteren Planungen sowie die Modalitäten der Beteiligung beider Seiten an den in naher Zukunft vorgesehenen thematischen Veranstaltungen erörtert, die darauf abzielen, die internationalen Anstrengungen im Bereich der humanitären Minenräumung zugunsten der von den Folgen der bewaffneten Aggression betroffenen Regionen der Ukraine weiter zu verstärken.

One of @TPrivitelli's first meetings in 2026 was with Amb. Bin Khothaila @KSAPermanentGVA 🇸🇦. They explored areas of collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially how to reduce effects of explosive ordnance on civilian populations in MENA in particular Yemen & Syria.
