When you copy others, by definition you cannot lead Everything you do is slightly worse than the original. Your message is close but not quite as crisp, your product has the features but is meh, and your ideas are all duds in between until you find the next thing to copy We've been dealing with this everyday since we started @plumenetwork. Virtually every major tokenization narrative we've been at the forefront both message and delivery and years later many others rip a half as good version. Not to mention the several outright clones. Our feed is littered with timestamped thoughts. We've been saying the same thing since we started. Make RWAs feel like crypto. The institutions aren't coming to save you. RWA looping is the killer use case. Stablecoins are the first and best RWA. And countless others. Not only were we the first for most, most actually derided us back then. Recently someone who originally passed on @plumenetwork bc "nobody cares about RWAs" now thanked me for helping write their keynote about RWAs bc to prep they just watched our videos, wrote it down, and repeated it. Tbh it used to annoy me. But the truth is it doesn't mean shit. Evan was one of the greatest product minds in social. And then Zuck came along and ripped everything he did. IG Stories were a blatant half ass rip of Snap stories and worse in every way. Until it wasn't. And now IG stories prints billions a year and nobody remembers snap stories. Rocket Internet has been wildly successful. Many Eastern clones of Western ideas are bigger than the original. Being a discount version isn't inherently a sin. In fact, many times the second rate copy actually wins. Execution is everything and while the best product doesn't always win, the winning product always eventually becomes the best product. You have to earn the right to exist every single day. But leaders don't have a choice. And while unfort we are increasingly becoming a Temu society, those who lead have no choice but to continue leading. The mistake is to look backwards instead of staying focused on the only thing that matters -- continued change, growth & innovation. And if you're right there will be a million Temu versions and you should be grateful that people even think you're worth copying. Execution is everything.
