BREAKING: Texas AG Ken Paxton affirmed the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court’s authority to hire an outside law firm for redistricting without usurping the County Attorney’s duties. This has been a hotly contested issue between the court and county attorney since July.

Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. today to vote on map adoption.

The final map, an amendment to Duncan and Yokubaitis', was drawn by Chris Pino, manager of voter engagement at BakerRipley. The only citizen-drawn submission, it keeps all officials and annexes in their original district, only moving 11% of the population.
