🌆🚨 NEW VENUE ALERT! LLEOLIAD NEWYDD! 🚨🌆 🧶 THE OLD @transportclub1 is to become the new home for THE SUSTAINABLE STUDIO @TSSWales - WITH A CREATION OF A VENUE SPACE FOR GIGS ALL YEAR ROUND! 🎵 I was honoured to go down to Tudor Street this afternoon and see how work has been coming along! ❤️ 🎢 it’s been a rollercoaster chain of events that has gotten them to this stage, after months of resilience but finally, this incredible organisation that houses over 20 community-led independent businesses and individuals will be housed on Tudor St with a top draw VENUE that we hope will stick around for good! Founders of Sustainable Studio, sisters Sarah and Julia tell me: “We absolutely loving our new premises, especially as it’s so central and we can continue to work with all the universities to offer work experience and internship placements. There is a thriving community of makers already in Tudor Lane such as @littlemancoffee and others, so it’s such a privilege to join an already long established community of creatives. It’s also the first time we’ve had a ground floor so we are super excited to be able to open up the music venue again to support affordable grassroots music all round and have space for exhibitions and run community workshops” It’s another stellar move by @cardiffcouncil who have housed the Sustainable Studio here, creating this opportunity to house a new grassroots music venue in their efforts to action their music strategy….and we say, fair play to them! 👏 👏 👏 Cabinet Member for Culture, Cllr @jen_burke_ says: “Sustainable Studios have been one of the lynchpins of Cardiff's creative sector for many years, and I'm delighted we've been able to find a way to help them find a new space so they can continue to thrive in years to come.” The studio are waiting to hear from you all about your ideas of the venue space. So get in touch!!! They’re also wanting a name for the gig venue. Maybe you could help them name it! It’s due to be completed around the beginning of November, let’s come together as a community and welcome this fantastic space and opportunity ❤️❤️❤️❤️
