@claytravis. It’s obvious. You have to look no further than the Sec conference itself. Vandy was a doormat for years. Now pretty good. Why? Because paying players is now officially legal. The days where Bama auburn LSU and Georgia were the only games in town is over. That’s why it was ridiculous that a 3 loss Bama team was in this playoff. As an ND fan I didn’t have a gripe with Miami. But bama and Oklahoma weren’t ready for prime time. And the sec has proven in post season play just how inept they were.
Clay Travis@ClayTravis

The SEC has not had a team in the title game for three straight years. I think the only hypothesis that makes sense for why this would be is NIL has more evenly distributed talent now that everyone pays players. Open to other arguments, but I think this is the reason. Fire away.

@adamschein. This is nuts. Lamar Jackson was a runner. He’s not as great at that as he once was. As a pure passer Lamar has never been a top flight qb. Ravens made a big mistake. Giants should pounce. Ravens era is over at least for awhile.
Adam Schein@AdamSchein

Harbaugh was amazing in Baltimore. He will be great at next stop. We talked last 2 days why this had to happen. Clear disconnect with Jackson, too many blown leads. Instantly a top candidate for Browns, Giants, Falcons, Raiders.

@clayTravis Kind of a huge coincidence for sure. Sec 1-2 and their only win over another Sec team. And of course Miss in a layup game w Tulane to get to 2-2. Oklahoma was the team that had no business being in. I’d like to check the film of that Bama game earlier this year.
Clay Travis@ClayTravis

Of course Tulane and JMU had no business in the playoff — should have been Notre Dame & BYU — and I still think Vandy and Texas should have been in as a top 16 playoff too, but the final two at large spots committee had to pick — Bama and Miami — both proved they belonged.
