nanoclaw: cleaner but containers box you in
wanted an agent on its own machine with its own accounts (github, vercel, gmail, tg, etc) that i could configure entirely through claude code and control via telegram
forked nanoclaw, stripped containers, added ralph loops + heartbeat + openclaw functionality
bare metal means oauth works natively, npm packages install directly, git commands just work, vercel deploys clean - no docker permission wrestling
agent pushes to its own github so i can pull work to my main machine. runs on a separate computer so if it gets compromised i wipe and reinstall in 10 minutes
the unlock: actual autonomy
send a voice note, it figures out what it needs. installs perplexity for research. finds the right mcp server. deploys interactive html to vercel. sends back a voice note, webpage, or overnight ralph loop results
not "i configured this workflow" - it's "the agent solved the problem however it wanted"
think openclaw but 4000 lines instead of 500k. one-shot dashboard you can configure from. works out the box
not for normies. you need to be comfortable with claude code and terminal. experimental but functional. claude code is so good now it fixes ghostclaw issues for you when they pop up
setup: mac mini, claude code in terminal, remote screen share from my macbook air. 10-15 minutes if you have an old computer lying around
