@notambiturner @WestminsterWAG Oh if only you were there to fulfil the dreams of your saviour complex eh, "john"?
English

I took the 94 bus home from dinner with an old school friend tonight. I was harassed by a man, while another sat next to me apparently in hysterics at what was going on. It was fine: I’m far too long in the tooth to care about a couple of dickheads. But had I been younger, I would have been quite scared. It’s not right that women should have to put up with this bullshit. Not right at all. London is not safe. @SadiqKhan
English

@WestminsterWAG @anitathetweeter What could possibly have changed since then I wonder?
English

@anitathetweeter Actually, good question. I used to get the night bus all the time in my teens and 20s and I have to say I can’t remember ever feeling uncomfortable in that way… but maybe that’s just because I was young. I did get mugged once by two guys, but that was not on public transport.
English

@MattMacKinnonUK Languages are inherently political. The same will become increasingly important for the English language in England as it becomes increasingly under threat by mass and illegal immigration
English

“Welsh is a political language” and a “political tool”, says Plaid Cymru.
They have finally said the quiet part out loud.
The increase in the use of the language by Welsh political, cultural and sporting elites has intensely ramped up over the past decade, now everyone can see why.
It’s part of their long term strategy to tear Wales away from our British family and create a big state, socialist, multicultural nation that acts as a pawn for the globalist elites.
Plaid Cymru 🏴@Plaid_Cymru
Cymraeg belongs to us all. We won’t let anyone take it away from us.
English

@JacotheNorth They better not be going after the amazing Welsh statues in City Hall in Cardiff - the place has been suspiciously closed to the public whilst they 'carry out some work' for a very long time it seems
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain I don't need to give a counter argument - that's what you've tried to do unsuccesfully. I'm giving you the factual definition of what a nation is or isn't - you can try to deny reality and make stuff up as much as you want
English

@TSovereigner @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain I’ve already told you that identity is irrelevant, as it is not real. You’ve not given a counter-argument. You also ignored that I said there are two layers of the nation. If you’ve got something to justify your unconventional position, please go ahead as this is getting boring.
English

@Sargon_of_Akkad The Celtic Britons - Welsh/CornishScottish and much of northern & western England are indigenous as the first nationhood of Britain - Roman, Anglo Saxons & Norman came later so can't be classed as indigenous in terms of nationhood - native yes
English

The English, Welsh, Scottish, and Irish are indigenous to the British Isles.
Zoe Gardner@ZoeJardiniere
@ConnorHollandUK We’re all of foreign descent you stupid racist.
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain Here's a map that might help you make sense of it all. As you can see the vast majority of people in all the different nations of Britain identify with that unique nation rather than making up an imaginary nation and getting indignant when called out
x.com/Possum_PictBot…
Possum.@Possum_PictBot
@_wyec @Iainite_Iain Ask the people who they are. It’s called democratic self determination
English

@TSovereigner @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain I’ve provided the conventional understanding and justification for it. All you’ve done is pretend your perception is fact with no reasoning. Try reading the conversation, and responding, that’s how conversation works lad
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain It's a factual statement, you're trying to counter established objective truth - a worrying reflection of the education system in England too
English

@TSovereigner @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain No it isn’t, you haven’t given any argument to counter the convention, you just keep saying it is true ‘just cus’
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain I'm afraid you're the one defying convention and established reality. Again, Britain isn't a nation in and of itself, it's a geographical island made up of 4 nations
English

@TSovereigner @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain You’re completely losing the plot now. Go ahead and provide an argument, I prompted you to defy convention and provide a reason to change what is established.
English

@Hans4ever @FBAwayDays What? Everyone gets shot just before they sit down? Surely no one would go if that was the case?
English

@FBAwayDays Probably a bunch of wimps like most of the English, come down to Camden New Jersey and watch a game, everyone gets a shotgun before they take their seat in the arena
English

@Chris_Davies @Hendehibby That needs to be changed
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain Your nation is England, Britain isn't a nation - it's an island of four different nations. It is weird to deny the existence of something as well established. Are there some common shared cultural aspects-yes of course-as there are in Canada & USA and between the Nordic countries
English

@TSovereigner @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain Identity isn’t real. My nation is England and Britain. It’s a weird position to deny the existence of something well established, demonstrable and observable. If you have an argument that counters an established society and culture, go ahead.
English

@Slovdave @F9340891660 A bit of a debt masochist who loves a bit of debt slavery to his masters it is then. Hey ho, each to their own, have a good night
English

@TSovereigner @F9340891660 I've given you enough opportunities to show us your plan for economic success.
Clearly, like every other nat over the past 80 years you don't have one.
So I shall bid you goodnight.
Find someone who is interested in your gibbering old fruit.
English

@Slovdave @F9340891660 'You know the pound Sterling is a sovereign currency right?' It is indeed but it isn't a debt free sovereign currency which is the most important bit
English

@TSovereigner @F9340891660 You know the pound Sterling is a sovereign currency right?
You know MMT is largely nonsense and the bits that aren't nonsense are just relabeled items stolen from real economic models right?
You once opened an Austrian school text book, got scared and never went back didn't you?
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain I think you're missing the point - and your claim that the British isles is one nation is just weird and incorrect. Your nation is England, why not be proud of that instead of trying to assume the identity of others
English

@TSovereigner @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain And culture is an even stronger example of how the British Isles are all one nation.
English

@Slovdave @F9340891660 One model is the sovereign currency model, where money is debt free at its point of creation. A pretty good plan unless you're a bit of a debt masochist and love a bit of debt slavery to your 'we know best' masters in London town. You're welcome
English

@TSovereigner @F9340891660 Your model sans debt....
Cue pedantic row back...
Where's your plan?
English

@Slovdave @F9340891660 Which model are you referring to?
English

@TSovereigner @F9340891660 Show me a prosperous country following your model.
Economics is a mystery to you
isn't it?
Now where is this plan to make us richer from day one?
Tick tock, I need some sleep, unlike you I have work in the morning.
English

@Slovdave @F9340891660 Perhaps you're not familiar with how debt based currency and debt slavery works very effectively to control countries?
English

@TSovereigner @F9340891660 Nonsense and pretended victimhood.
Show me any developed country that has no debt and is prosperous.
Word salad won't work.
UK debt to GDP is one of the lowest in the G7 btw.
Where's your plan?
English

@_wyec @Possum_PictBot @Iainite_Iain Britons/British was a very precise descriptor for the indigenous Britons until around the 17th century when the usurper London Norman English academia establishment conflated the term with English/Anglo Saxon. It's not DNA reliant, as much to do with language/culture/law/religion
English

That’s an ancient nation that is the primary origin of the British nation, so it is the same nation but the British nation is what it is now. Vast majority of Britons, including English, have majority Celtic and more broadly pre-Anglo-Saxon ancestry. Helps explain why we are so different to Europe.
English

@Slovdave @F9340891660 There may well've been some benefits to be objective about it but the UK crown (the city of London) practices an extractive economy on all the nations including England & the whole UK system is a debt based & debt slavery economy. Lose that and countries become prosperous quickly
English

@TSovereigner @F9340891660 No, I am showing how beneficial three centuries of the UK has been for the famine and feud ridden lawless, old Scotland.
If you want us to give up those benefits, show us the plan to do even better. Because no one will vote to make themselves poorer in the real world.
English
