@Icychiller54 @FBI_Tugboat While I wish this was widespread the prompt pay act (and most prompt pay state acts) only apply to money owed by federal (or state) agencies or regulatory bodies. NY, IL, and CA have passed “Freelance Worker Protection” laws but it’s a different subsections altogether

Unpopular opinion: College soccer teams should have to submit starting 11 and formation at least 1 hour (preferably 24) before kickoff. Aligns with MLS Next and professional standards and helps heavily with broadcast team prep.

Soccer Referee I'll do my best. 1. Some do some don't. Lots of people don't like compression at the calves so cut slits to relieve it. Others just like em lower with smaller shin guards. 2. "Penalty" is a "Penalty Kick" given for a foul inside the penalty area (the box). A foul elsewhere is just a direct free kick (you can score off of it). 3. Linked 4. Any part of your body that can play the ball (basically just anything but your arm) when its beyond any part of the 2nd to last defender's body that can play the ball, when the attacking team last touched the ball. There has to be a line somewhere, this is the best option. 5. Yes if you're not prepared for it, sometimes if you are prepared for it. Its similar to bracing vs not bracing for body contact, if you're ready, it hurts less because its expected. 6. To signal people to go. There's usually movement on corners, the arm up basically means "hey people this is the start of your movement" 7. All referees who don't have a whistle are "Assistants" they can advise but not make the call *for* the referee (with basically the lone exception of offside). If VAR believes the referee has made "A clear and obvious error" they can *RECOMMEND* an on field review where the referee watches the play back but with the benefit of many angles. The issue with this is when a ref is told to take an on field review, internally they're thinking "well if I'm over here, VAR thinks I've made a clear and obvious error so I must be wrong" and it skews their thinking. 8. I'm not 100% sure what you mean here but any player of either team can be in an offside position anywhere on the opponents half of the field. 9. Not currently, but in NCAA Men's and Women's soccer, games with Video Review will allow both teams to have 2 challenges and the way its written is I believe you can challenge anything from a possible Penalty (foul inside the box) to a wrong direction on a throw in.

@JacobFlora8 @TVSportsUpdates “Place” is another name for stadium. Ex. “Place Bell” in Montreal. BC or British Columbia is the province that Vancouver is in. Not a sponsored stadium, just a name that doesn’t natively have stadium in the name.

Fox is displaying "NY NJ" on its corner bug for matches held at MetLife Stadium. Now all stadiums but Estadio Azteca in Mexico City have hosted a match since Fox began displaying the location on the bug.

This is my single favorite lower 3rd in baseball. Seeing what is basically a scorebook line with a player line score is amazing. If ESPN adds this to their baseball package for next year’s college coverage I may cry tears of joy. PLEASE I PROMISE I’LL USE IT
