Andrzej Poczobut [@poczobut] has received Poland’s highest state honor, the Order of the White Eagle, in Warsaw, just days after his release from a Belarusian prison where he had been held since 2021.
A leading figure of the Polish minority in Belarus, Poczobut was detained over his activities and accused of promoting the legacy of the Polish Home Army.
During the ceremony, he stressed that the award symbolically honors all Poles facing repression abroad for preserving their identity, language and historical memory.
