In Geriann's free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading fiction, growing vegetables she has no intention of eating, basket weaving, and watching British and New Zealand murder mysteries.

Our next exec board member is treasurer Geriann Albers! Geriann grew up in a small town ~45 minutes east of St. Louis. She attended the University of IL for her B.S. and West Virginia University for her M.S. Geriann is the Furbearer and Turkey Program Leader for the IN DNR.

She pretended for a long time that she liked hiking and camping, but she doesn’t really. She like animals, the quest for knowledge, and solving problems and that’s what makes her good at her job.

Presentations should be 10 to 12 minutes, leaving 8 to 10 minutes for oral feedback. Examples of welcomed presentation topics include proposals, research ideas, in-progress projects, and first-time presentations.

Calling all undergraduate and graduate students, early-career professionals, English as a second language presenters, and first-time presenters! Submit an abstract for the New Presenters Symposium at the MWFWC to gain experience presenting your research and receive feedback!

Jeremy has been involved with The Wildlife Society since 1998. In 2015, he became a Certified Wildlife Biologist® to hold himself to the highest standards in our profession. He served as President-elect of the WI Chapter of The Wildlife Society in 2017 and President in 2018.

Jeremy earned his B.S. in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University in 1998, before taking his first position as a seasonal technician with KS Department of Wildlife and Parks.

Our next exec board member is President-elect, Jeremy Holtz! Jeremy was born and raised in rural Wisconsin, where he grew to love and appreciate nature and the outdoors. In addition to his love for the outdoors, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 sons.

From there, Jeremy held multiple positions with the WI-DNR. Currently, Jeremy is a Regional Grant Project Manager with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, where he works with NGOs to protect wildlife habitat while ensuring public access and recreational use.
