My 4th highlighted game of Day 4 of the @WVSHOOTOUT was another fierce battle between Greenbrier West and Wahama, and this one had drama written all over it. Wahama came out cookin early, setting the tone and jumping out in front with confidence and swagger. But Greenbrier West answered with a surge of their own, building what looked like a comfortable 17 point cushion. The gym shifted. Momentum felt like it had changed hands for good. Yet these scrappy and relentless Wahama gems never blinked. They kept hanging around, possession by possession, chipping away at that lead with grit and belief. By halftime it was 30-21 Greenbrier West, but you could already sense this one was far from over. Wahama stayed within striking distance the entire second half, and when the clock hit the 2:28 mark of the 4th quarter, the comeback was complete. The one two punch of #4 Cyrus Richard(IG-@cryusrickard4 and #10 Cooper Rush(IG-@coop_10) delivered in the biggest moments, closing it out and sealing a heart pounding 60-59 win. Cyrus Rickard was a force, leading all scorers with 21 points while dominating the glass with 11 rebounds for the double-double. He added 3 assists and a block, impacting every inch of the floor. Cooper was right there with him, pouring in 16 points, hitting 3-6 from deep, and grabbing 8 rebounds in a gritty all around performance that validated Wahama’s fight. Greenbrier West had their own warriors. #2 Carter Vandall(@CarterVandall ) had himself a strong double double of 15 points and 10 rebounds with 1 assist and 1 steal, battling all night. Kamden Sams( added 12 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds, bringing energy and playmaking throughout. In the end, it was Wahama’s refusal to fold, their fire in the comeback, and the two double doubles that turned what looked like a comfortable lead into a one point classic. Absolute barn burner.
