At least the war on Iran has exposed one uncomfortable truth: how useless U.S. military bases really are to the Gulf and Arab nations. For decades, U.S. bases symbolised power. This war reminded everyone that in modern warfare, fixed power can also mean fixed vulnerability.

Blaming Brexit in 2026? Give me a break. The real killer for British pubs right now isn't a decade old referendum, it's Labour's economic record. Between crippling business rates and some of the highest energy prices in Europe, the last 2 years have been absolute carnage for the hospitality sector. 'Muslims take Islam wherever they go' This is true and also wonderful. Our central values are built upon the faith. Being Muslim is first then everything else comes after. Nationalism isn't Islam but a man-made tool of division. However, it is a practice for Muslims to treat their home land with respect. Islam is not defined by borders but by way of life. Which is why you will find it in every corner of the world. Fundamentally we are Muslim first then British second.

I don't believe the categories you list apply to the workers I see on a daily basis, except those granted asylum or if they're working without having been granted asylum. Could be on benefits and working legally or illegally, not paying tax.

@TYUIOP34 @10to15percent @DaxwellsMemon Refugee status isn't the only route to a right to work. Student visas, work visas, family visas, asylum applicants after 12 months in limited cases, and settled status all exist. HMRC likes taxes too. Maybe learn the system before getting angry about it?

They're paid per job, carry all the costs (bike, repairs, insurance, phone), get no sick pay or holiday pay, and rates have been cut for years. Many earn so little there's barely any taxable profit left after expenses. That's exploitation, not luxury, Mr Scrooge.

I'm back from Iran and one thing was unmistakable: I didnt meet a single Iranian who supported U.S. attacks on their country. Any dissenting voices have turned against Donald Trump. Bombing their country and murdering their school children was the red line.
