In support of the Porter Moser returning to Oklahoma decision by Denny — here’s the way I see it on the @OU_MBBall season that has been so far: There were 2 elements this year that negatively impacted Porter’s ability to accomplish the task at hand (task being, IMO.. finish .500 or better in conference play + a tourney appearance); one out of his control and one he definitely knew going in could be an issue: - Dayton Forsythe’s ankle injury that impacted essentially his entire season - Mo Wague not being able to sort out his early game/1H of game foul trouble issues 1 element that positively impacted: - the mid-season addition of Ellatonsev Straight up, if Dayton’s ankle injuries didn’t happen or even weren’t as bad, this team isn’t even on the bubble but instead squarely in the tournament (a lá like a Mizzou this season, for example) I realize injuries happen and you have to be able to weather them to achieve team/program goals (@OU_Football did it in spades this year 👏) — however, even with a 9 (!!) game losing streak and those 2 things mentioned above, OU even STILL might be a tourney team tomorrow MORE RESOURCES from now on funneled to the program will be of the utmost importance to take the next step

My wife Amy was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and starts chemo therapy tomorrow afternoon. We have felt really encouraged by our community and feel God’s presence through it all. Pray for strength for her and she starts this journey. We believe she will have complete healing, but it will be a long road. I’m thankful for all that have reached out in support of her. Please pray for her + my boys and I through this process

For those against declining NIT invites (especially in this day and age of college athletics…) Can you really not see any of the reasons why it’s a defendable decision as a program that needs to make a leap starting this offseason under a new AD with promised support/resources?

@danfreakinpants Yeah for sure — there’s no perfect way to handle declining, for sure

@T_Neal I can definitely agree with the given nature of college athletics now. I just wish there was some common ground for the players that do want to play.

@HRtrackerSports How is this meaningless basketball any different than meaningful conference games when fans don’t show up? Why would they now? Hint: they wouldn’t

@T_Neal The portal doesn’t open until April 7th. This was an opportunity to build some momentum with fans. 3 games in Norman.
