@artporu @stprogs Shearer was mocked initially as a waste of money. A big, immobile lump with a 50p foot. Once he got going he simply couldn’t be stopped… & even if you slowed him down, Chalky was gleefully, waspishly chowing down on the scraps. Wish I could experience those #stfc times again.

@T_STBL @stprogs have to say this season has been a revelation for drinan. i think hes the kind of player who will flourish the higher up the divisions we go... great comparison (just missed shearer myself, but still a bit pissed about blackburn taking him that season...

My criticism of Swindon Town doing an ironically-named 'Supporter Engagement' interview in this enclosed, round table format, would be that it's a bit of an echo chamber. Appreciate they are offering some communication, which isn't true at every club, but I don't think it's healthy communication. Intelligently underhanded straw-man tactics from Clem Morfuni. He minimized his mismanagement by using soft language like "a couple of mistakes", then maximized the response to it from fans by using subtly melodramatic language like "they'll never forgive me". In doing so, he's created a subliminal message that supporters overreacted, and that he's the real victim. If this was at a fans forum, he would have been called out on this, and it wouldn't have stood up to scrutiny. Whereas in this environment, with him, Holloway and Hall singing each other's praises, helped by on-field results, he can elude direct criticism. The private setup smacks of wanting to try and control the relationship with the fans, as opposed to having a real conversation, holding real accountability, and building a real relationship. #STFC 🔴⚪️
