After Thailand aggressively invaded Cambodia in late December 2025, the Cambodian side tried on many occasions to invite the Thai side to bilateral and multilateral meetings, but Thailand refused. Up to now, Thailand has unilaterally decided to cancel the bilateral border agreements with Cambodia that have existed for more than 25 years. Therefore, the two countries will have to use international law to resolve the border issues. At this point, Thailand appears panicked and has proposed resuming bilateral talks with Cambodia. Thailand fears international law because it knows full well that it invaded Cambodian territory and is the party that initiated the war.
