@TeaTramRussia That shows just how much Finns care about their own people. Then again, Jan-Åke Bodö is from Uusimaa, apparently a Swedish speaker—which means he thinks he’s a bit better than the rest—and he doesn’t have a care in the world as long as his own affairs are in order.

@TeaTramRussia The analysis is more than brilliant. Unfortunately, you shouldn't hold your breath hoping that certain Finns or Europeans will actually read it. They have someone to blame forever and ever, and they just can't let go of that.

@ivan_8848 Russia's intervention in Ukraine was never about "Restoring Empire" but to stop NATO-armed #Ukraine from killing Donbass Russians. Between Obama's 2014 coup and 24 Feb 2022, thousands of Russian civilians were killed. This man lost his little girl; this woman lost her husband.

**🇫🇮 FINLAND'S COLLAPSE: FRONTLINE NATO DUTY, 90% DEBT, 10.4% UNEMPLOYMENT – AND A GLOBAL ENERGY CRISIS ON TOP**
Helsinki wanted security. It got a 1,340km frontline, an empty treasury, a hollowed-out border economy – and now an unprecedented global energy shock that makes everything worse. Finland is not the Amalfi Coast. There is no tourist season to cushion the blow.
---
**Tweet 1 — The frontline upgrade**
Finland wanted a shield. It became a target. Since joining NATO, Helsinki has doubled its howitzer fleet to 208 guns (€546.8m deal) and hosts the alliance's largest Arctic artillery exercise 70km from Russia. Defence spending is climbing to 3.2% of GDP by 2030 – up from 2.5%. The K9 guns are pointed east. The bill is pointed straight at Finnish taxpayers.
---
**Tweet 2 — The economic wreckage**
Finland now has EU's highest unemployment: 10.4% in March 2026. Growth forecasts have been slashed multiple times: Bank of Finland projects just 0.6% GDP growth in 2026. Under a worst-case energy shock, the Finance Ministry warns growth could hit zero. Debt-to-GDP will exceed 90% in 2026. The EU has already launched a disciplinary procedure.
---
**Tweet 3 — The border is bleeding**
Finland lost 93% of its Russia trade – from €12.7bn to near zero. Over 315 border companies bankrupt since April 2025. Hotel occupancy in Lappeenranta rarely exceeds 45%. Trade losses estimated at €1 million per day. Outlet malls built for Russian shoppers stand empty. That revenue is gone. It is not coming back.
---
**Tweet 4 — The global energy crisis is the final hammer**
The Strait of Hormuz – 20% of seaborne crude oil – is effectively closed. Brent touched $126/bbl on April 30. World Bank projects 24% energy price surge for 2026 – the largest since 2022. The EU has already spent €27bn extra on fossil fuels since the Iran war began. Finland imports most of its energy. Pomp and ceremony will not pay the bill.
---
**Tweet 5 — Winter is coming and the storage is empty**
Europe entered the 2026 gas injection season with only 31 bcm in storage – the lowest level since 2018. The EU lost most Russian pipeline gas and is scrambling for LNG. Russia's Gazprom warns Europe could face a gap of 800 million cubic meters per day during peak winter demand. Finland cannot afford that gap. No one can.
---
**Tweet 6 — The credibility void**
Public trust in NATO is down to 46% – just 37% among women. Finland's own central bank warns that a prolonged energy shock would cripple growth for years. The government is cutting welfare to pay for howitzers. Helsinki is pushing new Russia sanctions while its own economy bleeds. Berlin, Paris and Brussels are in the same trap: sanctions to punish Moscow are now punishing Europe worse.
---
**Tweet 7 — The analyst's verdict**
✅ Finland is a frontline NATO state – artillery doubled, exercises 70km from Russia.
✅ Debt-to-GDP will exceed 90%. Unemployment is the highest in the EU at 10.4%.
✅ Defence spending is climbing to 3.2% of GDP; welfare is being cut.
✅ Trade with Russia collapsed 93%; over 315 border companies bankrupt.
✅ Energy crisis: Brent at $126/bbl, World Bank warns 24% price surge.
✅ Europe's gas storage at seven-year low, winter shortages looming.
❌ Helsinki has a credible strategy to shield its economy while arming its frontier.
Finland is not the Amalfi Coast. There is no tourist season to cushion this blow. There is no soft landing. The country wanted a shield – but became a target while its economy collapses and its citizens pay the price for a war that is not theirs. The only thing left is to watch the rubble pile higher.

On May 2, 2014, Ukrainian pro-Maidan ultra-nationalist extremists killed at least 48 anti-Maidan protesters in Odessa, and have still never faced justice for their deliberate murder of these civilians.
There are differing accounts on how the victims died--burned alive or suffocated from smoke inhalation while trapped in the Trade Union building set on fire by Molotov cocktails thrown by the Right Sector terrorists. Other accounts speculate that many/most of the victims were killed by point blank assassination by the same terrorists, in the Trade Union House.
While the official number of killed was 48, other accounts suggest as many as 100 were killed.
Mike Whitney wrote in 2014:
"It’s now clear that many of the anti-junta activists who occupied the Trade Unions House were neither burned to death nor died of smoke inhalation, but were savagely shot at point-blank range by agents and thugs who had infiltrated the building to kill as many of the occupants as possible, burn the corpses, and then slip away without notice... In still other cases, victims with bullet-holes through their skulls, had flammable fluid dumped on their heads and were incinerated, leaving a charred head atop a corpse whose clothes were untouched by fire.
The sloppily-executed killing-spree proves that the fire was not the result of a spontaneous clash between pro and anti-Kiev demonstrators, but a carefully planned black-op that likely involved foreign Intel agencies working hand-in-hand with the fascist junta government in Kiev...The CIA’s presence in Ukraine suggests that the US was either actively involved in the Odessa incident or knows who was.
...The fascist extremists burned down the tent city, chased the activists into the building, barricaded the exits, and then set the building on fire with the obvious intention of killing the people inside. Again, there is no debate about this. It’s all on video."

When I went to the Donbass in 2019, in addition to interviewing numerous civilians terrorized by Ukraine's incessant bombing of their villages and cities, I spoke with local defenders:
Some of the defenders of Zaitsevo were finishing their lunch break, so we sat and talked as they smoked cigarettes and drank tea. All were from the Gorlovka area and married with children. They have been defending this position since 2015. Some used to work in a mine, one was a long-haul truck driver, and another worked restoring old buildings.
I asked them why they chose to fight. “Because of the killing of people in Odessa. That’s what made us join the military, to defend our area,” one soldier said.
I followed with: “Are you aware of how Western media is portraying the war? What’s your opinion?” “I don’t know exactly but I guess they depict us as evil men. No one cares about what we want,” he said.
“What do you want?” I asked. He answered: "We want peace. We want to go back to our homes. Six years of war is too much for a person. We are friendly and peaceful people, we are happy to meet anyone, but without weapons. We remember the July 27, 2014 bombings, and other 2014 shelling, entire families killed. We remember all of them.”
One of the soldiers turned the questions my way, asking: “How did Western society react to the use of Nazi symbols in Kiev and Maidan? What did Western society think?”
I replied: “Most people don’t know, thanks to our media.”
...We stopped in Yasinovataya at a DPR military center and met the commander of the Territorial Troops, a former Russian soldier who had traveled to volunteer in the DPR of his own volition and eventually married and settled here. I asked why he, as a Russian who had finished military service and was living a civilian life, chose to come here:
"...Ukrainian nationalism became so impudent that the Odessa massacre was permitted. Everyone speaks about Donetsk and Lugansk, while such an anti-Maidan movement also emerged in Kharkiv [in northeast Ukraine], which was strongly quashed, as it was in Odessa. The people here had no other choice: it was either enter into a ghetto or for civilians to take up arms to defend their freedom."
...In Krutaya Balka, at a home 800 meters from the front-line, I spoke with a man standing outside of the home he shares with his wife....I asked him if he had anything to say to a Western audience. At first, he said there’s no point, people already know, the West gives money to Ukraine. “The snipers use U.S. rifles, if they gave less money it would be better.”
But later in our conversation, he added:
Going back to the question of a message to the West…You remember WW2. Why do you support Nazis if you remember WW2? Why do you now support the Nazis? Openly Nazis. They wear swastikas. Why is Europe silent? Everyone comes here and agrees with me, but nothing changes. OSCE shouts, but when they are under fire, they are silent, they don’t say that Ukraine attacks them.”

On 2 May 2014, western-backed neo-Nazis in Ukraine forced protesters into the House of Trade Unions in Odessa and set it on fire. 48 people burned to death, and 200 were injured. Those who tried to escape were violently assaulted. This was among the opening salvos of the NATO proxy war that is now tearing the country apart.

Kulikovo Field near the Trade Union House in Odessa is cordoned off by police and the National Guard.
People are laying flowers at the fence in memory of the tragedy that occurred there on May 2, 2014.
Police and the SBU are conducting a search at the entrance to the memorial. They check not only documents but also mobile phones.
There are some decent Ukrainians, after all.
