People at Hawthorn say AI has become Sam Mitchell’s new obsession. He uses it daily to help in his game preparation… from opposition analysis and game trends, to creating conversation starters with his players:

What is GAMEBREAKER? GAMEBREAKER is football intelligence built on line-breaking metrics. Most people obsess over shots and xG. But those only measure what happens at the end. GAMEBREAKER focuses on the process before the shot: • DEFENDER_PACKED → How many defenders your team takes out with passes/dribbles. • DRIBBLE_PACKED → Breaking lines with 1v1 skill. • PXT (Progression x Threat) → How much danger a team creates moving the ball forward vs how much they allow. • BYPASSED_DEFENDERS_RECEIVING → Players who get the ball behind lines (Mbappé types who break games open). 📊 These metrics show who’s truly controlling games, even if shots/xG don’t tell the full story. Why it matters: • Predictive → Process reveals where the goals will come from before they happen. • Edge → Bookmakers and casual fans don’t use these metrics. • Winners → We identify under-the-radar teams & bets that others miss. In short: Gamebreaker measures how football is really won – by breaking lines, not just by shooting.

@12Xpert @Soccermatics XG is a metric designed for coaches to optimise maximum goalscoring potential from players and on field locations. Better players will obviously have higher XG, so you don't need XG to work out that better players will win more matches, the stats will always back the best teams!
