It's really noticeable in pro artists artwork, because they use easy to remember fractions, color gradation that are logical to color theory, proportions relating to each other, appealing shapes that doesn't look like the references etc..

When we say "simplify" with drawing it means : instead of trying really hard to be acurate to a photo ref, just make a good enough shape It can be an approximation like how you round a number to 0 or 100, make an item be fully circle or square, tons of zig zags become one line

One Piece remake have a trailer now, only need to wait until next year First thing I notice is that there's tons of 3D used there, also some 2D flat textures on buildings etc.. kinda feels like switch game cinematics Maybe we'll get less hand drawn BG.. let's see how it goes
