HOW APARTHEID MADE WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS RICH According to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), 64 per cent of Black South Africans are living in poverty. However, only one per cent of their White counterparts are poverty-stricken. The anomaly is not just in the numbers; the reality on the ground also shows that South Africa is still a country of two different societies existing side by side, one rich and primarily White, and the other, poor and Black. This glaring inequality between the two demographics has been a source of intense debate for decades. One question that is often asked is why this situation remains unchanged even after the fall of the apartheid system in 1994. Could White people be more prosperous because they are more hardworking? South African media personality Dan Corder has got the answer to this question. It is an answer that most racists might not like. In this video clip, Corder explains the different racist policies and laws that the apartheid regime put in place to give White people a head start - one that they’re still profiting from today.

WHO KILLED MOZAMBIQUE’S PRESIDENT? On the night of 19th October, 1986, a plane crashed, killing Mozambique’s President Samora Machel. But why it ploughed into mountains on the border with South Africa remains a mystery. We look at suspicions the apartheid regime was behind the tragedy following years of conflict with Maputo. Machel was a roaring revolutionary and pan-Africanist who not only liberated his homeland from colonial rule but also supported South African liberation movements seeking to rid the continent of the last vestiges of colonialism. At the time of the fatal crash, he was 53 years old.

ABUSE OF AFRICAN MIGRANTS IN LIBYA Thousands of African migrants cross into Libya every year in the hope of crossing over to Europe. Since the assassination of Gaddafi in October 2011 by NATO-backed rebels and the ensuing collapse of the Libyan state, conditions for newcomers have radically deteriorated. As this Al Jazeera clip from 2018 reports, many end up trapped in illegal detention centres, where they face torture and other inhumane treatment. According to Migration Policy, ‘those living in the community are vulnerable to extortion, violence and slave-like work conditions, while migrants held in detention centres may experience overcrowding, sexual abuse, forced labour, torture, and deprivation of food, sunlight and water.’ While Libyan authorities continue to deny these allegations, claiming that ‘the issue of migrant abuse is being fabricated to force international intervention,’ the abuse has been widely documented, with first-hand testimonies provided by those who made the dangerous journey across the Mediterranean and reached Europe. Unlike today, during Gadaffi’s time, Libya had a thriving job market that made it an attractive destination for African migrants. There were roughly 2.5-million migrant workers according to the International Organization for Migration. Thirteen years later, it has become one of the worst places to be an African migrant. Under the guise of propelling democracy and advocating for human rights, the West turned Libya from a successful, economically prosperous nation, to a failed state. A Young Black male was walking around his neighborhood in Sarasota Fl the morning after Hurricane Milton, because his power was out and he wanted to get better service to use his cell phone. And a group of suspected white supremacists who also lived in the area started to harass him. One of the suspected white supremacists even pulled out a 🔫. This incident was allegedly reported to the Sarasota Police, and they got on code with the suspected white supremacists and said no crime was committed.
