@damienmgrant Extramarital affair - happens. He uses his family + partners for his family man image. Lying about that is stupid and treating voters, who he wants to impress, like idiots. My dentist does not use her family to get my business. Nor does my vet, or physio, or carpenter.

Christopher Hitchens on Islam many years ago: “They really mean to abolish everything you care about, and they want to take away everything you love and destroy everything you have, replacing it with a Stone Age ideology.”

@roseveniceallan Women who have sex with men know there is a risk of pregnancy, even with contraception. If she doesn't want to have a child she needs to deal with any unwanted pregnancy quickly. 'Heavily pregnant' means a baby that can live. Women are the creators of life.

Nobody should be criminalised for doing something to their own body. Even in tragic circumstances when a woman is heavily pregnant, her body belongs to her, not her unborn baby or the state. Late term DIY abortions are traumatic and any woman choosing that needs help, not prison.

@bighairynetwork Shameless lies in first 2 minutes!!! January 2026 also an article in Woman's Day with new partner. Why not just be honest and say he includes family as part of public presentation and politics. That honesty wd show much more character.

@PierceSuzanne You are right. The journos failed the most basic level of questioning. Chippy says he keeps his private life separate from political/public life and no journo questions that basic lie. January 2026, Woman's Day interview, post on X, ...

A disgraceful exhibition from NZ's media today. I've never felt so ashamed & horrified at such a non professional gaggle of our most senior 'journalists'! Any ethical standards have disappeared. Watch: Emotional Hipkins rejects ex-wife's allegations rnz.co.nz/news/political…

@2ETEKA And kids on Chippy MP post. He said he made a 'conscious decision' to keep private and politics separate - failed at that.

Poor widdle Chrissy Hipkins, says he wants “his private life private” and has always sought that, before his little ginga face crumpled up and he put on a sook. He must have forgotten he married his ex wife at Premier house, and invited along media and posted pics over all his socials He must have also forgotten running to media to blurt about his upcoming marriage to the media and women’s mags where “he shared details of their romantic engagement, including his kids and family reactions and other details of the wedding!” The guys fucked. He’s gone. Labour will swap him out , the new leader will get a bump and then the focus is back to the other gimp - Luxon - and he’ll end up finally falling over too. Two Chris’ NZ is better off without.

Today New Zealand has informed the Director General of the World Health Organisation via New Zealand’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva that in accordance with Article 61 of the International Health Regulations, New Zealand has officially rejected the proposed Amendments. New Zealand First has always said that any decisions about the health of kiwis should be made from Wellington, not Geneva. We have fought on your behalf for these IHR amendments to be fully rejected, we made a promise to put the national interests of New Zealanders first, to maintain our sovereign decision making, and to push back on globalist bureaucrats - and we have kept that promise.

@IrishAotearoan Hipkins will lie for a vote. He sought publicity about his private life (Woman's Day article) but in media interview says he makes a conscious effort not to talk about his private life. x.com/i/status/20337…

It’s hard not to see the irony in @chrishipkins now playing the victim and claiming he’s putting his children first. You have to ask, did that same concern cross his mind when he allegedly had an affair with his intern? #nzpol

@aniobrien She cant be much of a friend of yours and you obviously don’t care about her kids and the repercussions of this will have on them. A good friend would have told her not to do it and not exploited her instead. Low rank thing to do on your behalf, actually it’s disgusting.

There seems to be a rumour doing the rounds that I’m somehow “pulling strings” behind the scenes in relation to Jade’s Facebook post. I'm not. Jade is a friend of mine and has been for several years, before she and Chris separated. I have known about many of the personal difficulties she went through for a long time, but because she is a friend, I have always felt those experiences were hers to speak about (or not speak about) as she chose. I did not know she intended to make that post until it appeared online, and I had no involvement in media obtaining screenshots of it. In fact, I have previously cautioned her about how brutal the media environment can be when private matters become public, and about the toll that can take on women in particular. It is not something I wanted to see a friend go through. The idea that I somehow orchestrated this is simply wrong and conspiratorial. As any friend would, I obviously have my opinions, but given the extraordinary leaps that are being made now I wish I hadn't commented at all. Yes, I write about politics and comment on it publicly. I have done so for years. But there seems to be a strange assumption that anyone who has political opinions must therefore be acting as some kind of shadowy operative, pulling levers behind the scenes. I have absolutely no interest in that kind of role. I’m a writer and commentator. An observer. I analyse politics, I criticise politicians when I think it’s warranted, and I defend people when I think they are being unfairly attacked. Jade is well connected and would have people more qualified than me to give her political advice. But in any case, my understanding of the situation is that Jade is simply fed up and posted. I'll leave it at that other than to request that people take a deep breath and try to have some empathy and understanding for Jade.
