China's Maritime Safety Administration has issued two navigation warnings for military training starting March 20th near Shantou, Guangdong Province. The reserved exercise areas border the southern Taiwan Strait. Both zones were announced on the 19th.

ARMS UPDATE: Today, the MND confirmed in a report to the Legislative Yuan that all 291 ALTIUS 600M drones notified in June 2024 have been delivered to Taiwan. Produced by Anduril, the drones began delivery in August 2025, approximately 14 months after initial case notification.

Taiwan’s Kinmen Defense Command conducted a “Taiwu Exercise” live-fire drill near Donggang in Lieyu, simulating nearshore defense and beach combat against a potential amphibious landing. The exercise featured M41D tanks, CM-21 armored personnel carriers, CM23 mortar carriers, mortars, 105mm artillery, .50-cal machine guns, 40mm grenade launchers, and 66mm rockets, while units also employed the TAK (Tactical Awareness Kit) for the first time to support command and communications during the drill.

For the second consecutive day, four China Coast Guard vessels entered the restricted waters near Kinmen Island. Taiwan's Coast Guard shadowed throughout the incursion, which lasted around 4 hours. The CCG vessels, 14605, 14533, 14603, and 14531, are the same four that violated Kinmen's waters yesterday morning.

ARMS UPDATE: Today, the Defense Logistics Agency awarded a US$470 million (NT$14.99 billion) contract to Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX, for re-manufacture of F100 engine modules. This contract uses Taiwan FMS funds alongside 12 other countries. F100 engines are used by F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets, as well as F-15s. Per @ColbyBadhwar, Taiwan was moved ahead of Saudi Arabia in 2023 for receipt of Harpoon and SLAM-ER missiles, multiple backlogged systems that share common production lines, confirmed by U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency Director Michael Miller in a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing today.
