@CertainlyMalka Oh yeah definitely, and that’s why I think stuff like fgo and history inspired anime are so important in getting people interested in historical figures without making it seem intimidating and/or boring! Really helps with making everything easier to absorb

@Takemi_ree I'm no history buff, but I'd sit down to listen to a local talk about their historical figures. But I think jp youth, and younger generations overall(myself included) have a hard time retaining all that historical knowledge unless its easier to understand. Idk how to solve that

I highly encourage going to Hino. I could tell that they lit up when I told them I was interested in Takasugi and the like, and I’m sure it makes them incredibly happy to know that there are so many overseas fans. (4/4)

manning the booth at the entrance of the Takasugi memorial was—you guessed it—an old lady I lwk get it, it’s so quiet there but I feel really bad that they’re all the town has for tourism. If there’s anyone here interested in Takasugi or just bakumatsu in general (3/4)
