@quevega @franzyprawnzy @UCI_cycling The most teams (I really think over 75%) is there for the love of cycling, riders and staff; of course everybody should be paid, but women cycling is not there yet. Organizers are also debit to that, due to the fact conti teams are (often) not paid for participating I wwt races

@TalentCycling @franzyprawnzy @UCI_cycling There's not much point in having teams if they're not viable, the staff should be paid too (obvs), riders just the most vocal and high profile on here. At worst these situations should be disclosed to team members (staff & riders) at the earliest poss opportunity.

@quevega @franzyprawnzy @UCI_cycling I think 80% of the continental teams are not able to contribute… so that will be another barrière to have less teams. Next to that … everybody is all about paying riders, but nobody is talking about the unpaid staff

@TalentCycling @franzyprawnzy @UCI_cycling Yes I'm sure you do have knowledge of this and I'm also not that surprised that you don't think teams should be contributing to a central pot to protect riders who likely have few income streams & are having the rug pulled from under them at a drop of a hat (potentially).

@quevega @franzyprawnzy @UCI_cycling That’s the end result of have no sponsors; To be attractive for sponsors you really need a (plantable) race program; I think I have some knowledge about this due to the fact as GTKrushRebellease we suffered the same result this year (after 6 years)

@franzyprawnzy @UCI_cycling Hope you're ok & find something soon, agree entirely there needs to be protection etc via a central fund or similar to offer support when these things happen.

The costs for the UCI women’s continental teams are are really high and you don’t get anything for that money… only the right to exist; to get a normal race calendar is a struggle and for that, the costs are also very high. @Episteme__ @janwillemspaans Hai Samuel, vrouwen en mannensporten zijn niet te vergelijken, het is bijna een andere tak van sport met dezelfde spelregels. Je vergelijkt jeugdvoetbal ook niet met seniorenvoetbal toch?

@HuubBellemakers @nickhoekman Een sportschool is ook geen vereniging maar een commerciële instelling met een winstoogmerk; daar mag je eisen stellen aan het "product";

@nickhoekman Ik vroeg laatst na een enigszins mislukte vrijwilligersavond aan een team wat later de kantine in kwam (wegens training): wat kunnen jullie doen voor de club? Antwoord: "contributie betalen". Het is hier geen sportschool vriend.

Deze reactie is precies het hele probleem. Een vereniging is méér dan contributie afdragen zodat kind kan trainen.

@chantalverwoert @nickhoekman Vanuit ouders zijn er bepaalde verwachtingen in begeleiding, besturing, wedstrijd secretariaat enz enz. Dit wordt allemaal gedaan voor vrijwilligers; Als ouders niet willen helpen, zal men hier professionals voor moeten inhuren wat een grote impact heeft op de contributie.
