@TalkTownGame was invited to present to the South Island Advisors on Deaf Children - we got lots of great feedback and ideas on how to extend our work to younger learner and their families.

@katerowley0 Sorry to hear this @katerowley0 Here in NZ schools and Early Childhood Education Centres (nurseries) have to provide NZSL interpreters for Deaf parents.

challenged the school on this but oh it is so tiring and frustrating that I have to. If it doesn’t work, do I take it all the way? I worry that it would affect my relationship with the school & in turn affect their relationship with my daughter. She’s only just started Y7. Sighs.

So frustrated. My daughter’s school has said they won’t provide an interpreter for a meeting where her support will be discussed! She’s hearing but has dyslexia & suspected social communication issues. How I can support her if I can’t access the meeting?! Of course, I have
