@camforbusiness @bt_uk I cut my KE teeth on the @bt_uk - Cambridge relationship, working with Jeff Patmore and the @CorpPembroke team. A shame this piece doesn't also mention BT's work with anthropologists & philosophers, which was quite unusual at the time! @jeffsbuzz

@Kristian_Foged @adamdriver85 Yes, they're probably the most regulation-heavy areas. Investment trends definitely a factor too and linked to trends in public funding of R&D (which reduces risk).

@Tam2Mann @adamdriver85 Thanks for this! Seems from this regulation can have an impact but that it's most notable in specific sectors such as Energy and Medicine. Doesn't necessarily stop innovation, but rather is part of where tech will start. But from this, seems the bigger factor is investment opps

Hard to prove a negative, but does anyone have an example of regulation inadvertently stiffling 'innovation'? Meaning it a) wasn't deliberately trying to shut down or severely restrict a sector, and b) didnt just slow advancement but created barriers that stopped innovation
