If you’re in medicine, one tangible thing you can do is study the history of racism in your specialty & do everything you can to dismantle it. We have a systemic issue, and EVERYONE is needed. Lack of diversity in medicine helps perpetuate racism and disparities. #medtwitter

Medical Specialties as Dog Breeds 1. General/Trauma Surg -> German Shepherds Hardworking, sharp, and confident. Will save the day, dependable in crisis. Can be very intimidating but are friendly once you get to know them and very loyal.

Black Medical Students’ Association at U of T
2016: 1 Black med student entered U of T. Raising our voice led to increased representation in subsequent years. 2020: 60+ Black med students representing all 17 med schools in Canada came together for our first national meeting. This is truly our ancestors’ wildest dreams.
