It was a real pleasure to meet the wonderful winter camp kids at Chabad Barrie! We had a meaningful discussion about the light of Chanukah and the powerful idea of each child having their very own letter in a Torah scroll — a project started to unite Jewish children from all around the world through one shared Torah. The kids were engaged, curious, and full of bright energy!

We gathered at Forest View and Valley View seniors homes to celebrate the first Friday of the new year, 5786. The atmosphere was warm and uplifting as we sang songs, gave charity, and spoke about this week’s Torah portion "Vayelech". We reflected on the fresh start a new year brings, and how each of us, at every stage of life, has the power to grow in goodness, kindness, and connection to Hashem. The smiles, the spirit, and the shared moments made it a truly meaningful way to begin the year together.

There was something deeply luminous about that gathering at Forest View Seniors’ Home on Friday, the eve of the full‑moon night. Though not yet the 15th, the approaching fullness of the moon compelled a quiet sense of anticipation and renewal. Coming just after the weight of the 9th—Tisha B’Av, our bleeding day of loss—the eve’s soft glow already whispered of hope and healing, even before the moon reached its zenith. On that threshold between mourning and celebration, we sensed the ancient promise of Tu B’Av: that after the darkest descent, restoration looms. As Shabbat’s peace drew near, the atmosphere itself seemed to inhale the grief and exhale tranquillity, opening our hearts to joy even before the moon fully revealed its face—lifting us gently toward union, light, and the sacred calm of Shabbat.

At the Bathurst and Sheppard weekly rally, we come together to fulfill Mitzvot with intention and heart, dedicating each good deed to the protection of the IDF and the safe return of all hostages. May our unity and actions bring strength, peace, and Moshiach now!

In a time that can feel heavy with confusion, pain, or loneliness, every mitzvah—like putting on tefillin or lighting Shabbat candles—becomes a spark that brings light into the darkness, illuminating even the hardest moments with warmth, clarity, and divine purpose. #BathurstAndSheppardRally #DoAMitzvahToday #WeWantMoshiachNow

Today, Sunday, 11 Shvat, at Bathurst and Sheppard rally for our brothers and sisters in the holy land of Israel! In the merit of the IDF! In the merit of all hostages be returned! 🎗️tens prayed and wrapped Teffilin, whether inside the warm Tank, or outside in the cold 💪 over 60 Shabbat candles distributed! More than 40 people purchased their own letter in the unity Torah sefertora.org.il 5 women received their own book of Tehilim, to recite psalms daily, or at their free time 📖
