I'm pretty sure this is just a plastic four cylinder engine from a toy car 🤔

@SteveWiesbaden @AutoPap Lol! Same here... i don't care that the back of the car will look like a post-movie cinema floor when we get home, I still want it immaculate before we set off 😁

@AutoPap When I was little, in the car (maybe a Princess or a Maxi?) waiting for my mum, noticed that the end of those are bright orange after they've been pressed in. I won't touch that bright orange bit again.

I feel absolutely burnt out. Decided a driving holiday to Europe will help. No destination, no pressure, just drive until we want to come back home. Just the thought of it is keeping me going.

@AutoPap Mate was doing a Europe trip in a camper van, when asked what his plan was after getting off the tunnel he said his plan was to turn left! My road trip with the family in the summer is more structured: Solihull - French west coast - Venice - Lake Garda - Sölden - Stuttgart 😁

Amazing how a pair of scabby number plates can drag down the whole look of a car. Fresh plates are one of the cheapest, quickest glow‑ups you can give your motor - instant facelift, instant pride.

This Twin Turbo V8 630bhp Goliath goes for its first service on Monday. Can’t recommend the people at Land Rover enough. My secret? Be nice and people are nice back 👍🏼

Quick engine bay clean so I could treat that faded rubber near the back. I'm not saying that anyone else should do this, but I really like that shoe polish for the black pigments and then finishing with a rubber or plastic treatment. What would you use on the main engine cover?

I love opening @evomagazine for the first time each month. Here's four pics from the first flick through. Final pic reminded how much I loved my blue Imprezza Turbo, also on a V plate 😍

@graeme_cobb My wife and I have little, city EV and a big family diesel car. There's a place for edge cases and the somewhere in between ❤️

Yet another fuel crisis, but it doesn’t have to be this way. The last time we had a fuel crisis was 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine. It meant filling up was expensive when petrol was hitting near £2 per litre, but I was fortunate enough to own an EV by then. However, it was the faux fuel shortage of September 2021 caused by a shortage of HGV drivers that ultimately gave me that nudge to go electric having queued for over an hour to get the last dregs of petrol from the fuel station next to Buncefield refinery. I wanted to take back control, and in going electric, I was in control. I could pump fuel directly from house to car overnight at a cost of £5.25 for 350 winter miles of range. A stark contrast to the £85 for 45 litres back in 2022 for 350 miles of driving in my wife’s Mazda CX-3. This afternoon as I walked down to Sainsbury’s I was reminded of both of these events from our recent past. Energy, particularly that which is drilled and refined, is so fragile to geopolitical events - which are seemingly and unfortunately more common - was a wake up call to my wife and I. We both drive EVs now and our lives are positively affected by the change. We have more spare money and we do everything in our EVs that we did in our petrol cars without any inconvenience. It’s as simple as that. EVs may not suit all, and that’s fine. But just remember, there is a way in which we can be impacted less by geopolitical events and super-wealthy oil companies looking to extract more profit from motorists. EVs are that cheat code.
