100% and those stories matter deeply. I've come across incredible examples of people constrained by disability, geography, or circumstance where virtual worlds were the only place they could fully express themselves. My concern is less about who uses these worlds and more about how they're designed. Most mainstream platforms tried to build on presence alone, not purpose. When worlds give people something meaningful to build, contribute to, and a sense of belonging, they last - especially for those who rely on them most.

@Taov OK, but what about for those unable to create substantive real-world connections for one reason or another? In those cases, virtual world use is not an "escape", right?

Not even Meta, with tens of billions of software and hardware investment over the last decade, has been able to make social virtual worlds successful. What would you give as reason(s) why?
