@JeffBayer4 That’s the part a lot of people ignore. Permanent DST sounds great until you realize some areas would stay dark deep into the morning during winter. The farther west you are in a time zone, the worse it gets.

@Tapirfluxx There has never been shown that economic productivity has actually been a net benefit that overrides the negative effects. Extra evening daylight is a preference. I like evening sun too but I still know Standard Time is healthier and more aligned to the sun.

Exactly. Wanting more evening daylight is understandable, but preference shouldn’t outweigh biology. Standard Time keeps our clocks closer to the sun, which supports healthier sleep, better circadian rhythms, and safer mornings for kids and commuters. More productive has never clearly outweighed those long-term health costs.
