Report of man with gun near #Boulder, #Colorado schools was false, @boulderpolice say. Both Fairview High School & Southern Hills Middle School were both on lockdown earlier today.

#Boulder Valley now saying Southern Hills will continue classes, but parents can pull their students out for the day if they wish. Fairivew will NOT continue classes

UPDATE: #Boulder police confirming they do not believe there is any active threat, and that source of call was a man with a weighted vest and a cell phone. Still, schools remain on lockdown while they are cleared. Avoid area to leave room for emergency traffic

#Boulder Valley tells me that as police clear classrooms at Fairview and Southern Hills, students will be released for the day. No special reunification area at this time. District working on buses as well. Too early to say what tomorrow might look like

UPDATE: Per scanner, the original called confirmed the person in the weighted vest was what prompted alert. Sounds like police are going to finish sweeping high school just in case

UPDATE: Per scanner, an officer is in contact with a man who is "likely" the source of the report. They are unarmed, but were wearing some type of weighted workout vest that might have looked tactical. Waiting on confirmation from witness
