@GSmithbbo5 He faked it! He was 22, it was a tough crowd, and didn’t want to lose his wages. Eric and Ernie apparently agreed to pull him backwards through the curtains and they never let him forget it.

@tarantwina He came to Glasgow in the 1960s king’s theatre! He was that nervous he fainted on stage! Poor guy! A great TV personally! 🙏

@tarantwina My husband’s claim to an encounter with your lovely dad was he was almost knocked down by him when he stepped out into the road when he was a kid. I’m sure your dad was in his Rolls. Didn’t he work for them? Ah, he was a great guy, loved watching him on tv.🩷

@northumbriana @prodnose @MeanEyedCatNCL Dad was a Newcastle supporter by the way! I remember watching that historic 5-0 win with him. First game I ever saw. He was absolutely buzzing and so was I too.
