This is an excellent story for kids to support them understanding the current situation and our return to school one day per week. It was created by lovely Ms Perry from Cooranbong Public School who has given us permission to share: cdos.run/u-0/sites/1048…

In your household, you can show kindness by making a meal, cleaning a sock drawer, weeding the garden, washing the dishes. It might take a little time, but imagine the joy it will bring to the person who needs it? We are all in this together, so lets spread kindness! 2/2

Have you heard about the Kindness Pandemic? Wouldn’t it be great to spread a little kindness by paying forward a good deed or kind act? This could be a simple digital card or a FaceTime call, a poem or a letter to someone to say hello or thank you. 1/2

Miss Cicala has created a fun Creative Arts matrix you and your family could choose to try activities from over the holidays. These are just ideas; feel free to try them out or to ignore them and spend your holidays relaxing however you would like to!

An interesting article sharing the thoughts of Sydney Uni Vice Chancellor Michael Spencer that the school system is adaptable and encouraging parents to try to not stress too much as teachers know how to differentiate & will get kids back ‘on track’ amp.smh.com.au/national/don-t…

@RAMKC63232975 @Saanvi83456841 Thanks for your responses parents. For academic help, we strongly encourage your child to post a request for further information on their google classroom. This is important for them to develop some of our key character strengths such as bravery, love of learning and curiosity.

We love the idea a 3K parent shared that their child calls a different WPS friend each break to stay connected. Several of our teachers are calling students to do the same. I know I will be calling more kids today to check in- puts a smile on my face and hopefully theirs! 3/3

One of the key challenges is trying to maintain connectedness and the sense of belonging we all work so hard to ensure we have in our classrooms. We would love to hear from you strategies you are trying to help your child still feel connected to their class and school? 2/3
