Are any Canadians still planning vacations to the US right now? Given the current way the US is treating Canada and its citizens, it’s surprising to me that travel south continues. Many of us are noticing heavy scrutiny at the border: interrogations, detailed questions, phone inspections, and an overall atmosphere that feels intentionally designed to make Canadian travelers uneasy. So I have to ask: if you’re still booking trips to the US, what’s your reasoning? Are you showing that you still care about how Canada is being treated, or have you simply decided it doesn’t matter?

U2 tomó el sonido del post-punk, lo infló hasta dimensiones de estadio, le puso una capa de mesianismo político que Bono convirtió en su marca personal, y lo vendió como profundidad. Y funcionó, cómo funcionó. Llenaron estadios en todos los continentes. Vendieron cien millones de discos. Bono se convirtió en una figura política global. Pero si pones "The Joshua Tree" al lado de "The Queen Is Dead" de The Smiths, que salió el mismo año, 1986, o al lado de "Sign 'O' the Times" de Prince, que salió en 1987, la distancia artística es enorme. The Smiths estaban haciendo algo genuinamente original, genuinamente frágil, genuinamente incómodo. Prince estaba redefiniendo lo que un artista podía hacer completamente solo. U2 estaba haciendo rock de estadio muy bien producido. Muy bien producido no es lo mismo que profundo. Y la industria musical lleva cuarenta años confundiéndonos al respecto. ¿Estás de acuerdo?
