@_StopFoodWaste_ A5: I agree with @FlikISDining that education and awareness is important. Sharing statistics about how much food is wasted on average has been really eye opening for many. Teaching our communities about small (and easy) steps to take to reduce food waste will make a difference!

Q5: How do you see us addressing the way we think about discarding food in our culture of abundance and convenience? #StopFoodWasteDay
English

@_StopFoodWaste_ A4: I’ve started saving my vegetable scraps and freezing them to make vegetable stock for soups later. What used to be food I thought I couldn’t use is actually valuable in the kitchen!

Q4: What is your go-to low waste recipe or favorite thing to make to clear out groceries before they expire? #StopFoodWasteDay
English

@_StopFoodWaste_ A3: Don’t be afraid to try something new in the kitchen. If you have food you know will go bad, think outside the box for ways to use it. Soups, smoothies and even pasta sauces are great ways to use up extra fruits and veggies before they go bad.

Q3: Advice for the home chef: what habits do you recommend adopting in daily life to reduce food waste? #StopFoodWasteDay
English

@_StopFoodWaste_ A2: Working in schools, I’ve realized how important it is to share tips with individuals about how they can reduce their food waste. I don’t think individuals realize how important of a role they play in the big picture of #FoodWaste - we all make the difference!

Q2: Food is wasted at every step of the supply chain. What do you see as the most important step in tackling the global food-waste crisis? #StopFoodWasteDay
English

@_StopFoodWaste_ A1. Growing up, I heard about how important reducing food waste was, but it wasn’t until I began working for @compassgroupusa that I saw just how much of an impact each of us can have on reducing food waste every single day.
English

Q1: When did you first become aware of the impact of food waste? #StopFoodWasteDay
