Every year since 2013 (except 2021 and 2022) the season started with a 2x champ looking to become a 3x champ and failing to do so. Let that sink in. What happened to Jesse Mendez this year has happened 12 of last 14 years with 16 missed opportunities! Since 2000, we have had more fail then succeed at this. Shocking ! Is this a Dan Gable curse? Mitchell Mesenbrink will look to become the NCAAs 50th 3x champ next season.
