The early mornings, the relentless training, the years of discipline, all leading to one defining moment. One moment that makes every challenge and every sacrifice worth it. For Premchand Soy, Ashish Tani Purti, and Jaysan Kandulna, that moment is finally here, as they earn their place in the Indian Under-18 squad for the Test matches against the Australian team. The Tata Trusts are proud to have walked every step of this journey with them, from the grounds of Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA), Jharkhand to the national stage. #NTHA #Sports #HockeyIndia #TataTrusts

The Trusts have been supporting a first-of-its-kind experiential learning programme for teachers, introduced even before NEP 2020. Through its partnerships with CBSE and Ministry of Tribal Affairs with technical assistance from the Mahatma Gandhi International School, it moves teaching beyond textbooks, promoting a practical, experience-based approach delivered through digital platforms. On National Technology Day, the Tata Trusts reaffirm its commitment to technology built with people at its core. #NationalTechnologyDay #Education #SDG4 #TataTrusts

Holistic education can only be achieved when students and teachers have the right tools to connect and communicate with each other. Investing in the right technology is crucial to bridge the gap, enabling more responsive, inclusive learning that adapts to the evolving needs of both learners and educators. As the founding partner of Khan Academy India, the Tata Trusts have enabled free, world-class teaching-learning resources in mathematics and science for any user. With the content made available in multiple Indian languages, the programme focuses on government school students. It is also piloting Khanmigo, an AI-powered tutor, in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (residential schools for girls from marginalised communities), Uttar Pradesh and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (residential, co-ed schools by the State Government).

The Tata Trusts and Arghyam support the India Water Portal—advancing water knowledge and awareness that is regional, multilingual, and rooted in lived experiences. The Regional Storytelling Fellowship (by IWP) is a six-month immersive journey that traces water stories across homes, fields, sacred groves, and shrinking rivers. Wahid, Neetu, Vanshika, Brijendra, and Thomas reported stories from Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, in English and Hindi; on how water is understood, managed, and governed across India.  The fellows recently came together in Bengaluru to share their work. The systems that work best are built on care, consistency, and the ability to respond. For generations, these have existed in everyday actions, often led by mothers, rarely acknowledged as systems of support. This Mother’s Day, we recognise those who’ve been practising what strong support truly looks like and continue to build systems that carry that forward. #MothersDay #Motherhood #EmpoweringWomen #TataTrusts

Sports can shape confidence, resilience and a sense of direction. In Mizoram, where badminton is widely played, access to structured training and opportunities has been a key gap. Through its support to the North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA), the Tata Trusts is helping address this by enabling programmes that nurture talent at the grassroots. The Mizoram Badminton Initiative creates pathways for young players to move from informal play to structured training, with access to coaching, competitive exposure and mentorship at every stage. Tirza’s journey reflects how early access, consistent support and the right guidance can help young athletes move forward with confidence and purpose. Every handwoven textile is one of a kind. No two are identical, no pattern is accidental, no thread is without intention. Because fashion is art, and like every art piece, it carries the mark of its artisan - their skill, their time, and their culture. Sustainable fashion is having its moment. But reading between the headlines, the people who built this craft rarely benefit from the moment it becomes desirable again. Antaran, an initiative of the Tata Trusts, works within handloom clusters across India not just to preserve craft as art, but also to make sure the artisans who carry it forward can actually make a sustainable living doing so. @Antaran_Crafts #ReadingBetweenTheHeadlines #FashionIsArt #Artisans #Antaran #TataTrusts

Before the diagnosis, the hospital, before any of it, there is a moment where someone in a remote hamlet must decide how to access the life-saving care they or their loved ones need. That decision looks different in different places, and in some, there’s a beacon of hope that tells them it will be alright. In their words, it's the doctor who moves into a tribal village for a year and earns the right to be heard. A mobile unit that shows up every two weeks so a pregnant woman doesn't have to guess if help is coming. A community health worker who was trained not just in medicine but in being the person her neighbours call first for fevers, for deliveries, for moments that couldn't wait. The Tata Trusts, over the years, has supported people and institutions that make these decisions easier for communities on the ground, through sustained investment that allows trust to build, until seeking care is no longer a fear, but an expectation. That's the version of healthcare worth talking about, and worth building. To watch more: youtu.be/1qGuyMh51nw @CareAssam #WorldHealthDay #TheLastMile #Healthcare #SDG3 #TataTrusts

In Ladakh’s remote villages, livestock is often the backbone of everyday life, but limited veterinary access, low productivity, and lack of value addition have long kept incomes constrained. Through Himmotthan Society, supported by the Tata Trusts, a more integrated approach is taking shape. Animal health camps are improving nutrition and disease prevention, leading to healthier herds and increased milk production. At the same time, skilling initiatives are enabling households to diversify businesses, extending beyond raw produce into marketable goods. From dairy to wool, these efforts are building local enterprise, strengthening income streams while creating opportunities for women to participate more actively in the rural economy. What emerges is a shift from dependence on one income to diversification into multiple, where livelihoods are no longer limited to what is produced, but expanded through how it is used, valued, and sustained. Meaningful learning environments are built not just through access, but through shared ownership. At the Government Primary School in Himachal Pradesh, the Tata Trusts, through its support to Himmotthan, has focused on strengthening how learning is experienced and sustained within the school. The approach centres on building processes that encourage participation, from student-led systems and structured routines to active involvement from teachers and community members. This has reshaped the learning environment, with teachers taking on more enabling roles and communities contributing actively to how learning is supported. At its core, this reflects the Tata Trusts’ focus on community ownership for sustained actions, participation, and help carry the learning forward. This week’s Sunday Reads explores how traditional crafts are being revitalised by placing artisans at the centre of their growth. Supported by the Tata Trusts, initiatives like Antaran are bridging the gap between heritage and modern markets, enabling artisans to access wider opportunities, collaborate on design, and strengthen their role in the value chain. With millions engaged in India’s handloom sector, many of them are women carrying forward generational legacies. These efforts sustain both livelihoods and craft traditions. Antaran has supported artisans across clusters to build micro-enterprises, generate income, and step into entrepreneurial roles, while integrating innovations like IoT-enabled traceability to strengthen authenticity and trust. In doing so, it brings together tradition and innovation to enable sustainable livelihoods. To read more about the stories behind these crafts and the people shaping them, visit: tatatrusts.org/media/media-re… @Antaran_Crafts #SundayReads #SundayMotivation #TataTrusts

Mosquitoes don't respect borders, and as the climate shifts, they are finding new ones to cross. Every 25th of April, World Malaria Day asks us to reckon with a disease that still claims thousands of lives each year, and a climate that is making it harder to predict, harder to track, and harder to contain. Moskeet, developed by TrakItNow and supported by India Health Fund, a Tata Trusts initiative, is changing how health systems respond. An AI-powered trap that identifies disease-carrying species in real time, it gives authorities the intelligence to act before an outbreak takes hold. This World Malaria Day, The Tata Trusts reaffirm the commitment to enabling innovations that reach communities before disease does.

There is a moment that every reader craves. It’s when a book stops being words on a page and becomes something else entirely; be it a feeling, a memory, or a version of yourself you hadn't met yet. This World Book Day, The Tata Trusts celebrate that moment and the books that make it possible. The Parag Honour List 2025, annually curated by an independent jury showcases five extraordinary titles telling us stories of mothers and memory, art and resistance, language and belonging, forgotten heroes and living forests. Books that become more than just words on page. Through the Parag initiative, The Tata Trusts enable children across India to access stories that reflect their worlds, in their languages, from their communities, honouring their identities. Because somewhere out there is a book that feels like it’s been waiting for them. To know more: paragreads.in/parag-reads/pa… @ParagReads #WorldBookDay #Education #SDG4 #TransformingLives #TataTrusts

The climate crisis is not a future problem. For millions across India, it is already the present. The Tata Trusts believe that meaningful change begins at the ground level, literally. Through enabling partners to restore degraded land, secure water, build climate resilience in farming communities, and protect ecosystems that sustain livelihoods, The Trusts remain committed to leaving behind only what the earth deserves to save. This #EarthDay, the most important thing is not what is said. It is what is done today, and every day after. #EarthDay #ClimateAction #Sustainability #TataTrusts
