Kobe wasn’t even close the best player on the floor. He could’ve taken more shots, and that makes the team worse. I don’t see how that boosts him into top 5

Kobe’s role in Shaq’s success was always downplayed. Look at what Shaq did after leaving LA. Kobe could have asserted himself earlier but played his role within the triangle offense to win rings. 18x All Star, 15x all NBA, 12x all defense, Top 5 acoring all time. Nobody really touching those outside of MJ, Lebron, and Kareem

He was always Top 5 to me. Until Lebron added to his resume and got LA a trophy and #1 scoring all time I jad him behind MJ. Magic, Kareem, and Shaq all would have him above them. They’ve all been quoted saying it before he died. I can respect when people put him 4th behind Kareem. And there def is era/regional bias so I can even be ok with some having him 5 but no way he is lower than 5

@kingdrec1out @WilliamMewVMAX Kobe didn’t even get finals mvp in his first 3 titles while Shaq was there. Kobe got his stats because of all the attention Shaq drew defensively. Thats what allowed Kobe to be Kobe. Also the reason I put Shaq over him all time.

Kobe had the same number of rings, but he also CARRIED weak rosters to b2b championships. Also When we talk GOAT its more than the stats. Its the cultural influence. The mamba mentality made a whole generation look at grinding and competing different. When ppl shoot a piece of paper into a bin its “Kobe!” Every time. Tim Duncan is often slept on def Top 10 but cnt see Top 5

@WilliamMewVMAX @kingdrec1out I got him at 8. Same as most had him before he died. Jordan, LeBron, magic, Duncan, Kareem, bird, shaq, Kobe. It wasn’t until he passed that people wanted to start throwing him into the top 5.
