Türkiye has always been a target. Massive pressure was applied, and 'gladius' elements tried to infiltrate the bureaucracy. But no matter what, they couldn't turn Türkiye into a 'goyified' war horse; for instance, they couldn't drag us into a war with Russia or Iran. As for the answer to the current situation: Assad lacked authority and was weak; he didn't have the leadership psychology for the Middle East. He couldn't even remove the Israel-backed YPG/PKK from eastern Syria, or even from two neighborhoods in Aleppo. He was reportedly just playing PC games in his palace. His successor, Jolani, has cleared the PKK/YPG from Syria and neutralized the radicals over time. This is a huge gain compared to the past. Despite Israeli pressure, Türkiye and Syria stayed out of the Iran war, which is exactly why Israel is so angry.

Türkiye is a country that minds its own business. It doesn't pursue a harsh foreign policy; instead, it mostly follows a policy of balance. We have constitutional secularism, but we are also culturally secular and relaxed. More importantly, while all the countries around Turkey have been involved in heavy wars, Turkey has remained very safe. It's like being in the eye of the storm. Maybe it just lacks enough promotion, or sometimes global lobbies do some negative PR. But that’s okay—Turkey’s cats do a better job of promoting the country than Turks do.
