I suffered this same injury on March 6th and did not require surgery. To think that he'd be ready to go in 3 weeks is insane. 5-6 weeks seems reasonable. If the US can make it out of the group my guess is you'd see him.

@11Yanks Hey, I’m with you. Maybe Richards has mixed feelings about it, considering he’s a big part of the success of that club, we don’t know. Selfishly we should all want him to sit the rest of the season and recover as much as possible until the WC.

@TaylorSCollins The club will want him to play, maybe. Richards gets to decide if he's fit enough to play. There's a huge risk involved.

Chris Richards should absolutely NOT play in the conference final if he's 50/50. Imagine missing the World Cup because you tried to play in a 2 year-old, 3rd-tier competition no one cares about.

@ProspectsUsmnt Form trumps potential in major tournaments. You can be playing in major leagues (which Musah and Reyna are) and still not deserve a call-up. Regardless of your thoughts on MLS, Poch has expressed that sentiment. Potential means nothing if it’s wasting away on the bench.

This discourse is all wrong. The MLS lobby is trying to will him into a WC spot. He’s 25 years old, has never played in a top league, and has struggled most of his USMNT games. The onus should be on him to go to a top league and prove himself before he gets into the senior team, which let’s be honest is deepest at his position! You shouldn’t be allowed to hide out at home and try to capitalize on the lack of any definitive proof that you’re unable to contribute against better teams. If he’s so good, what is the wait for him to head abroad?

Makes the decision from Poch easier than it should be but this is a gut punch no matter how you slice it.

Not enough fans mad at Hollingshead. 0-0 Team made it through the suck at end of half just for THAT decision to put us down in the aggregate? A seasoned vet? Just why man?

I just think it could’ve been approached in a different way. Come out aggressive in the first half, press, be brave through the lines, get a goal and then bunker in, play a more counter attacking style in the second half with subs to support that. Be proactive instead of reactive once we need a goal.

@TaylorSCollins Quite literally no one dares being aggressive and running there. It's why they have like 2 losses there in 35+ matches. If we do that, Lloris only has to save 10 or so because 4 are in net by 55th minute lol

Wrong set up from the start. I put 90% of this on MDS. I will never back a philosophy of “defending a lead” when you can play on the front foot. Defend, suffer smartly but did any of us really think we could survive bunkering in with Lloris making 30 saves? Proof is in the pudding.
