Microsoft has fired Alon Haimovich, the head of its Israeli subsidiary, and several other managers. An internal investigation found serious problems with the company’s work for Israel’s Defense Ministry. Microsoft cloud services were used to store recordings of millions of Palestinian phone calls every day on servers in Europe. The company had already ended some access in 2025 but uncovered more issues in the review. The Israeli branch will now be managed from France.

The BIOS Self Healing process occurs when the laptop detects that the primary BIOS firmware is corrupted or has failed a checksum (often after a failed update or a sudden power loss during a flash). Lenovo ThinkPads carry a backup copy of the BIOS on a separate chip, the system is currently copying that healthy backup over to the primary chip to make the computer bootable again Once it reboots and you are back at your desktop, it is a good idea to check Lenovo Vantage for any pending firmware updates to ensure the primary and backup versions are properly synced
