There is a real crisis at MRC tracks. I don’t know what personnel have changed but something g has dramatically changed at Caulfield, Sandown and Mornington. Caulfield and Sandown have been absolutely disgraceful lately considering the weather and Mornington on Monday was given out at a dead 5, but the times suggest more like a heavy 8-9. What on earth is going on?

Terrible day. No winners. The great game hey, no excuses but i've reviewed Sandown and have it as a genuine heavy 8 whereas I did the form on a soft 5. How the track goes from a 6 to a 7 with no rain is mind blowing. I've learnt from this likely to be a quieter few months.

@Tba122 @MelbunMan @GetOn78 Gilded Water a clear excuse, the other two had their chance IMO. I think you’d barely need a hand to count the media/free tipsters that you could follow with confidence they’ll find winners on a regular basis.

@Tba122 @TravTurf I'm not saying TNE is The Everest winner. I'm saying, if he was mine, I'd be heading down the Everest path first before the Coolmore. A second/placing to KYR on the CV from a stud perspective would be more appealing, I think, than the Golden Rose, and IMO he's not running 1400m

The obvious target is the Coolmore...but he has to get an Everest slot first and go there

@TravTurf Running second to KYR on the CV is pretty much a Group l win in the whole scheme of things, and I think most see The Everest, even with KYR, as more appealing vs the Coolmore. The older sprinters overall (as of right now) are proper cast. Would be mad not to go Everest first

Skybird currently $26 to win Saturdays Doomben 10,000 looks great value with now the guarantee of a wet track. She was a complete forgive on very hard ground in Adelaide last start and now finds a fast race on a wet track. Her 3rd in the TJ Smith is good enough to win this. 🐎

@mugspunting @gramage_ It is the most ridicoulous airing of garbage I have heard about a horse who is 3 & hasn’t won enough races to be an automatic qualifier. Race more frequently and be placed better to win the races and there would be no sour grapes. @ghall27 dribbled on about this for 2 days aswell

We are the leaders of the Jmac fan club and would love to see him ride, but @gramage_ … She not wrong! Horse has won 3 races, the best result being a Set Weights listed race This is a Group 1 btw, EVERY horse above him is a Group 3 winner or higher FIELD IS STACKED

Gee it feels like a bit of D-Day for Jimmysstar in the Doomben 10,000 this weekend doesn’t it? He’s too good a horse to go winless throughout a preparation, and this is the easiest race he’s contested in some time. The caveat? It’s back to 1200m, a distance short of his best.

Birdman's improvement is very noticeable. He's always been a grinding stayer, but it looks like he's got a serious turn of foot now. Looks a good bet at $5 for the Doomben Cup based on that run. Dare I say it but I think he might be going a bit better than Half Yours. He's going to be one to keep a very close eye on in the Spring.

My favourite Goodwood was when Giga Kick was pitched in & failed That was glorious Almost as good as the time Imperatriz crushed him @ MV & the owner's racing manager had the nerve to blame Craig
