Despite zero sleep being in hospital, I somehow keep going. Trying really hard to get through this ordeal.

REBECCA After a week I've finally put into words Rebeccas last Parkinson’s appointment. Fifty Minutes of Indifference. by Michael Whelan Fifty minutes. Forty-nine of them felt like an accusation wrapped in white coat indifference. We drove into that sterile room clinging to hope—thin, tattered hope and left with nothing but anger. Rebecca’s neurological movement disorder specialist, the man who’s supposed to help us navigate the wreckage Parkinson’s leaves behind, looked at us like we were an inconvenience. Annoyed that Rebecca is struggling. Annoyed that I keep asking questions because I am her voice, her advocate, her only line of defense. Annoyed that I dared to mention that we’re still depending on a Parkinson’s medication developed in 1975. Annoyed that I expected more than platitudes after decades of research and $2.5 billion raised by the Michael J. Fox Foundation. I wanted to punch the guy. Not out of rage alone, but heartbreak. Because after all these years, this is what progress looks like? A shrug? A sigh? A professional too tired or too detached to give a damn? If this were his mother sitting in that chair, would he have said, “We’ve done all we can”? Bullshit. Everyone says, “Go here, go there. See him. See her.” As if it’s that easy. As if we have a team of drivers, nurses, aides, therapists or private jets ready to whisk us across town. Great advice—for people who can afford an army. Me? I can barely move Rebecca from the bed to the sofa. She’s developed such severe agoraphobia that getting her out the front door takes a small miracle and an hour of coaxing. And I’m supposed to somehow haul her across town or the country, from doctor to doctor, appointment to appointment, while managing her meds, her meals, her panic, her pain, and my own exhaustion? I’m a one-man band, and I’m running out of instruments. I drive, lift, medicate, feed, soothe, clean, and beg for answers from a medical world that seems deaf to desperation. At this rate, I’m going to die before she does and I don’t even think I’d mind, if it meant she’d finally get the help she deserves. I’m angry because I love her. Angry because I’m scared. Angry because the people who should be leading us forward seem content standing still. Rebecca deserves more than fifty minutes of annoyance. She deserves a medical community that gives a damn not just about the science, but about the people caught inside the waiting rooms of their own lives. If that makes me difficult, then so be it. Because as John Lewis would’ve called it—this is Good Trouble.

No we're not having anything big. on the contrary, tiny tiny tiny. Don't have the money for anything big. She can't walk or stand so it's on our sofa. 🤣 My dear friend is the president of Disney Weddings and he's offered his services pro Bono. I had a best man i was bringing out to Orlando but not anymore. People show their true colors- I'm glad it became crystal clear to me before the wedding. Very Heartbreaking but you just got to clean out the closet as painfulas it might be. I'll take the high road unless he continues to be a 5 year-old. The last thing Rebecca needs is any unnecessary stress. 💙👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨
