1 in 13 Canadians going to ER get FED UP with the wait time and LEAVE before being seen …even though many have URGENT problems Their risk of hospitalization & death is 14% higher over the next week. theglobeandmail.com/gift/4b2fe5569…

Our thoughts are with our colleagues at the QEII in Halifax. Violence has no place in the Emergency Department. Read CAEP’s position statement on violence in the ED and the urgent need for action: tinyurl.com/4bxumyrw

I hate aortic dissections 1/ A middle aged patient presents with a week of severe abdominal pain and constipation. Has not had a bowel movement in several days. No fever or history of similar pain. HR 110, BP 168/110 otherwise vs wnl. history of cholecystectomy and c-section.

“If they can’t meet the terms that we want them to, we can do an RFP,” Smith went on in her 2021 speech. “And then the Alberta Health Insurance can give a different contract to a different group of doctors.” thetyee.ca/Opinion/2024/0…

It takes years of great decisions to build a world class health system. It takes a handful of bad decisions to burn it to the ground. Hope Canadians pay attention. It won’t take too long for healthcare to slide from good->tolerable tolerable->bad and bad->desolate
