As much as I hate to say it, crime could pick up dramatically in the Philippines as cost of living skyrockets from the energy crisis impacting the most vulnerable of the population. This crisis could also further aggravate simmering angst and resentment over rampant corruption in government without a single Flood Control Scandal figure being tried and sentenced. You get the sense that something’s gotta give. I really hope not. But things could get ugly if this crisis does not resolve soon.

Stairclimbing is an incredibly effective workout.
When you climb stairs, you get dual cardio and strength benefits, targeting quads, glutes, hamstrings, calves, and core for muscle power and endurance. Plus, boosts in aerobic capacity of up to 17%.
Climbing stairs also burns 20–50% more calories per minute than jogging due to constant vertical load.
Tip:
If climbing multiple flights of stairs is too intense for you at first, try this. Climb 2 flights, then walk down a flight to let your body recover. Then repeat.

Though the Sugarhill Gang inaugurated the history of recorded hip-hop with their single "Rapper's Delight," a multi-platinum-seller and radio hit in 1979, the group was cooked up to cash in on a supposed novelty item. Music industry producer and label owner Sylvia Robinson had become aware of the massive hip-hop block parties occurring around the New York area during the late '70s, so she gathered three local rappers (Master Gee, Wonder Mike, and Big Bank Hank) to record a single. Infectious and catchy, "Rapper's Delight" borrowed the break from Chic's "Good Times" and became a worldwide hit, eventually selling more than eight million copies. Most industry people figured rap for a short-lived trend, and though they were dead wrong, the Sugarhill Gang certainly didn't carry the torch; despite several modest hits ("8th Wonder," "Apache"), the trio faded quickly and was gone by the mid-'80s, only returning in 1999 with Jump on It, a rap album for children. ~ John Bush, Rovi (via Spotify)

FACT (also from Grok): 1979 was the landmark year when rap hit wax and changed music forever. “Rapper's Delight” by Sugarhill Gang (released September 16, 1979) is widely regarded as the first major commercial rap/hip-hop song.

Actually, "rap" doesn't stand for "Rhythm and Poetry"—that's a common backronym invented later. The word comes from Middle English "rap" (to strike/hit), evolving in African American Vernacular English to mean "to talk" or "converse" (like a rap session). In hip-hop, it describes rhythmic spoken delivery over beats. No shame in the mix-up; it's widespread!
