Clean water has been distributed to displaced families living in tents in Gaza. Getting water may seem like something simple in other parts of the world. Here, it is no longer a guaranteed right, but a daily struggle. Long lines of children and parents stand for hours just to get a small amount of water for their families. Seeing children filling their containers with clean water is a powerful moment that cannot be forgotten… a moment that gives them a small sense of safety in the middle of all this suffering. But the painful truth is that many families are still waiting for their turn. If we cannot deliver water to them, they may have nothing to drink. Your donations make a real difference. Dear Friends and Followers: We did it! Today we distributed 80 portions or so of the most delicious and nutritious ‘Hummus Fatteh’ to the poorest people of our encampment. As you know, we are all fasting and so the hummus will be enjoyed at sundown when we break our fast. It is hard to express the mutual joy of giving and receiving this simple food that transforms a basic meal of bread into something celebratory. I feel a deep sense of inner joy and satisfaction and I wish and hope to repeat this every day! The cost today was 1200 shekels ($360).
