@JD_Ott And strangely enough, many of them will claim they’re conservative and vote Republican in 2020 despite government welfare bailing them out (liberalism) as a result of tariffs (liberalism) being imposed. Our nation is so confused. Identity politics is to blame.

@JD_Ott That sucks man. The same is happening with farmers in eastern WA right now. They have been hit with a double whammy of a reduction in workforce due to crackdown on migrant labor AND tariffs are crippling them. Many farmers are essentially on welfare right now.

@JD_Ott Exactly. Put another way, Trump is using governmental powers to limit freedom in the marketplace. That’s liberalism... so why are conservatives so quiet? Where are they? They should be shouting their displeasure with these sanctions from the rooftops.

@JD_Ott The foreign economic policy is the imposition of tariffs, yet another thing traditional fiscal conservatives are supposed to be vehemently opposed to ideologically. I have a responsibility to teach liberalism and conservatism and right now the lines are VERY blurry!

I just want to know why. Why does he care so much about giving Russia a seat at the table? Doesn’t make any sense. Russia is a grown nation and can advocate for itself; it doesn’t need an American president advocating on their behalf. So what’s POTUS up to here?
