It’s been a jam packed first two days of CAMT so far! I have already learned so much, and can’t wait for the school year to start to try out new things in my math block!!!! ☺️

It’s our first day of math STAAR prep, so we did @lead4ward ‘s cafe conversations and turned our class into a Starbucks! My students were engaged and loved reviewing over our topics from this year!

We love student led projects!!! Using our test prep passages we created genre specific posters highlighting key vocab and tips for each genre.

Tomorrow is the big day!!! Our fabulous counselor visited us today to share an awesome book about testing to help us get over some of our testing anxiety for STAAR☺️🦈

STAAR prep is in full swing here in 3rd grade! Today we compared and contrasted paired passages using one of our favorite @lead4ward strategies!

After two @lead4ward trainings, I was excited to come back to my class and try out some new strategies! My kiddos LOVED cafe conversations and ballon bop! Can’t wait to use them again during our STAAR Rockin Review!!!

Every house meeting, we do a good deed for our community. Today our house spent some time outside cleaning up our playground and gathering lost items! #housereveur @ronclarkacademy @schmalzsharks

Every year, my kiddos fall in love with Opal and her crazy dog through the pages of @KateDiCamillo ‘s book. My favorite day is when we get to celebrate with our own party, filled with our dog pictures, lozenges, sandwiches, and punch… just like Opal!!😊🐶💕

I’m a big believer in kids taking ownership of our class! These leaders decided it was time to spring clean and re-organize our classroom and math supplies during their free time 💕

Today my scientists observed the physical properties of soil using their hand lenses, and recorded what they saw in their science notebooks. Soil may not be the most exciting topic, but investigations like this keep my kiddos engaged and excited to learn!

The best part of my kiddo’s writing process is when they put their brains together and work together to revise and edit their pieces. My classroom sounds like a classroom full of mini teachers and I love it!

Manipulatives, but make them edible!! Today in small group we practiced division using equal groups of “cookies” that went along with our math book! @schmalzsharks @katyisd

In our pod you’ll find interactive bulletin boards that circle back to previously taught concepts. Here, students can sort out the various forms of numbers while they walk to class or wait for the restroom. I love having team mates who come up with such great ideas!! @katyisd
