Only one of my Sunday school children showed up, so we drew a picture and now we're watching Superbook on YouTube, and I've never seen this kid so interested in religion. 😂

I just remembered, regardless of who wins the election tomorrow, I have to take 55 teen boys to the inauguration in January and that's stressful AF right now as well. 🫠

I've never felt more seen 😂

Teaching "Masque of the Red Death" and suddenly got violently ill and threw up (luckily in the bin). Kid in the back: Is that part of the lesson because I thought they just bleed a lot? I don't know if I should laugh or cry, but yeah I went home.

Today, I found out I look like one of my student's moms who passed away in a car accident a few years ago. The kid spends a lot of time in my room (he needs extra help, so it never struck me as odd), but when I met his aunt today and she told me we both got a bit teary.

Checked in and sat down in the waiting room at therapy and a kid from my school is also in the waiting room. 😨

Conversations with my 10yo... Me: Your teacher wrote redo on this paper. Him: No, that says vedo. It's Italian for very good. Me: "Very good" in Italian is "molto bene", try again, buddy. I don't know if I should be impressed with his quick thinking or not 😂.

I took my son and my partner to the high school football game last night, and one of my 10th graders came up to my partner, introduced himself, and shook his hand. My partner was like "I didn't know 15yos did that." 😂😂

We had 3 lockdowns in one day today, and I just went to curl into a ball and never go into school again. 😭

I went to reconcilation today, and after an emotional confession, my priest looked at me and said "You confess sins that aren't your own. Other people hurting you isn't your sin to bear." I think more people need to hear that.

After 3 years of waiting/declining health, my father got a kidney transplant last night (his second organ transplant in 7 years). Organ transplants are so bittersweet as one family is grieving today while another is flooded with relief that we get more time with a loved one.
